Charles Oliveira misses weight for UFC 274 main event, loses lightweight title on the scale
Oliveira will be stripped of the UFC Lightweight Championship before his performance with Justin Gaethjek
The UFC Lightweight Championship is in line for only one person at UFC 274.
Defending champion Charles Oliveira failed to make the 155-pound weight limit at Friday's weigh-in.
Oliveira would be stripped of his title and ineligible to win it back in the main event.
As a result, only his rival Justin Gaethje is eligible to win the championship.
Oliveira initially weighed 156 pounds.
He stripped naked for the latter attempt but was still over a half-pound over the strict 155-pound weight limit.
"Du Bronx" was given an additional hour to shed the extra weight.
This leniency is not given to fighters competing for the UFC title.
UFC 274 is headlined by Oliveira vs. Gaethje.
UFC 274 takes place on Saturday, May 7 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
