New 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' trailer shows a certain Sith Lord being assembled
The six-episode series debuts on Disney+ on May 27th.
Happy Star Wars Day! Lucasfilm and Disney+ are celebrating May 4 with another look at the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
There isn't a ton of new footage in this trailer compared to the first teaser.
However, there is an excerpt from a conversation between Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) and Owen Lars (Joel Edgerton) about training young Luke Skywalker to become a Jedi.
Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) is being seen together, which makes for much more than the breath-taking cameo of the previous trailer.
The clip also reinforces one of the main stories of the show.
The Empire is desperately trying to hunt down an on-the-run Obi-Wan in an effort to wipe out the Jedi once and for all.
I wonder how it will go.
There is also a very brief glimpse of Kumail Nanjiani, whose character is dressed in Jedi-style robes, along with several scenes of the villain.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is set 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and will fill some of the narrative gaps between the prequel and the original trilogy.
Obi-Wan Kenobi should be an easy sell for Disney+, thanks to familiar characters front and center.
