88-year-old woman killed in alligator attack
An 88-year-old woman was killed in a crocodile attack in South Carolina on Monday, officials said.
Officials said respondents found Gator "protecting" Baker.
Officials said the 9-foot, 8-inch male gator has been euthanized.
Officials said the post-mortem of Baker would be done on Tuesday.
According to the Department of Natural Resources, this marks the fifth alligator death in South Carolina since 2000.
Alligators are active during spring and summer
Because when temperatures rise, their metabolism increases.
They look for food, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokeswoman Melody Kilborn told ABC News last month.
Alligators are most active at night, so swim only in designated swimming areas during daylight hours; Never feed a crocodile.
